No additional schools would close this year and Horace Mann High School would enjoy new life as a central administration center under a revised plan presented to the School Board on Wednesday. The board will vote on the proposal that's based on $3.2 million worth of budget cuts at 5 p.m. Friday at the school administration center.

Board members and Superintendent Mary Steele warned that more schools would close in the 2006-07 school year because of $6.6 million in state budget cuts and by sanctions imposed by the federal No Child Left Behind law.
