Senior John Arient, a 6-foot-2, 185 pounds, is a handful on either side of the ball for the Golden Eagles. Arient is a top linebacker and will also get his share of carries for the Golden Eagles.

ALGONQUIN -- Jacobs football will have a new face this season. Make that several new faces. Gone are graduated impact players Sam Shepherd, Matt Gandolfo, Joe Zimka, Dan Foote, Chris Nitz and Nick Teson -- several of the key ingredients that led the Golden Eagles back to the playoffs in 2004 after a four-year absence.
