The Cubs will make their first return to Yankee Stadium since the 1938 World Series this weekend, beginning today. Manager Dusty Baker and some of his veteran players are trying to downplay their series in the awe-inspiring venue, but they are well aware of its powerful history.

NEW YORK -- Some people want to elevate this weekend's Cubs-Yankees series into an elaborate history lesson. The Cubs should know better. History has beaten them time and again and remains an opponent that can't be subdued. To compare the traditions of the Cubs and Yankees would be the same as judging a child's finger-painting against Picasso. Different leagues, different visions.
