[ ] Benzene found: County negotiating property purchase for jail parking lot JOLIET - Soil contamination has been discovered on a piece of city-owned property at Chicago and Marion streets that the county wants to acquire for a jail parking lot. Mel Rull, executive director of the Will County Public Building Commission, announced the test results Wednesday at the commission's monthly meeting. The commission is overseeing the jail project.

The county is about to expand its adult jail at 95 S. Chicago St. A video visitation building is going to be constructed east of the jail and more parking is needed for the jail addition and video visitation.
