Rudolfo Heredia left the U.S. District Courthouse here in tears Friday after a jury acquitted him on charges that he stalked his ex-girlfriend. Heredia's alleged victim, Hammond resident Sandra Anaya, cried out after the verdict and had to be restrained by court officers as she struggled toward a man prosecutors say is the primary suspect in the murder of Anaya's 13-year-old daughter.

"I have never seen anything like it," Arlington Foley, Heredia's attorney, said of the outburst.

"Obviously, we're pleased with the verdict. I think the jury did the right thing with the evidence they were presented."
