BATAVIA - Construction on the new Wilson Street Bridge isn't scheduled to begin for nearly a year.
But members of the Historic Preservation Commission hope to take a proactive stance, adapting their annual facade improvement grant to help building owners prepare for the year-long project.
The grant is awarded to property owners who need financial help to restore the exteriors of their buildings. Applications are weighed based on merit and must be approved by the commission. Dollar amounts are variable, based on the project.
