What began with two women sending care packages to relatives serving overseas has now grown into a mission that has shipped close to 1,000 care packages to soldiers.
Cissy Singleton had a nephew, Brian O'Lavin, who is a Navy Seal. When he was deployed to Iraq, she and her sisters started to send care packages to each Seal in his platoon and to other deployed soldiers of family and friends.
Nuala Kurokawa had a son, David, in the Army. He served with the 1/64 Armored Regiment with the 3rd Infantry Division in Iraq.
She was sending care packages to David, and then decided to send an Easter package to everyone in his group. Singleton and Kurokawa joined forces and now lead the troop care ...
