Julia Neary is enjoying a golden opportunity. The Wilmette native plays Dory, the daughter, in the Victory Gardens Theater production of "The Family Gold."
She's blessed with renowned actors Roslyn Alexander and Harold Gould as stage parents, and is relishing her first opportunity to be directed by Victory Gardens' artistic director, Dennis Zacek.
"To work with Dennis and Victory Gardens is an honor," Neary said.
She was also drawn to the role for the opportunity to share the stage with veterans Alexander and Gould.
"You can watch and learn so much. It's better than a class," she said. "Roz and Hal are wonderful. I feel very safe with them. To have them play my parents is a hoot."
