Stevenson High School students and faculty have been raising awareness of organ donation by bringing in some heavy hitters.
The death of a beloved senior who was awaiting a lung transplant was the inspiration for Organ Donation Awareness Week sponsored by Stevenson's National Honor Society chapter.
Speakers include Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White, State Rep. Kathy Ryg, D-59th, and organ donors and recipients.
Organ donors and recipients are manning information and sign-up booths throughout the school this week and speaking to students too.
