Article: County jail guard loses job

The Cook County Sheriff's Merit Board decided Monday to terminate Thomas Wilson's employment as a Cook County Jail guard in connection with the beating of a man charged with the Palatine Brown's Chicken & Pasta murders.

Wilson was accused of assault and battery in May 2002 by James Eric Degorski. After the incident, Degorski had reconstructive surgery for his face, and metal plates were placed in his head.
