Article: Student Council will dip into its savings to pay for a sponsor

The East Maine School District 63 Board of Education last week agreed to allow the Gemini Student Council to use its own savings to pay the stipend of a faculty sponsor. The cost is expected to be approximately $3,000.

Budget cuts had put an end to the district's funding of Student Council, but Gemini Principal Scott Herrmann had made a special request to the school board, asking that money from the school's activity fund be used in order to continue the program.
