Article: Skokie Blvd. condo plan rejected

The Skokie Village Board Monday unanimously rejected a condominium development project that had drawn objections from residents who live in the area of 8845 Skokie Blvd.

About 35 residents from the Devonshire Park area, which is located near the proposed development, attended the meeting to voice concerns. The residents had also attended Plan Commission hearings at which the project was addressed.

About 127 neighbors signed petitions against the development. One resident Monday displayed computer-generated photographs of what the area would look like with the proposed development and what the area could look like with more modest townhouses as an alternative.
