The Pirates captured Saturday's 18-team Hinsdale South Invite behind Glenn Morris' first-place 15:12. Morris, who clocked a course-record 15:21 at Melas Park in Palatine's season-opening 25-30 win over Hersey Aug. 31, was followed by teammates James Macatangay (2nd, 15:16), John Lancaster (4th, 15:34), Matt Moss (13th) and Robert Conley (15th).
CROSS COUNTRY
Ryan Zachar (20th) and Danny Holbach (31st) also competed.
Coach Fred Miller's bunch visits Hoffman Estates at 4:30 p.m. today (Thursday).
GIRLS: The Pirates will contend for the state title in November.
It's that simple.
