Article: Schools, Rotary help with local tsunami relief efforts

Lakes Community High School students and staff declared war Wednesday.

Teachers and their students, split into the Gold and Cranberry Teams, are waging a penny war through Jan. 26, with proceeds going to the tsunami relief efforts.

"It's a nice thing that students want to do here," said Associate Principal Ron Bode.

In addition, Community High School District 117, Millburn District 24, Emmons District 33, Antioch Elementary District 34, Grass Lake District 36 and Lake Villa District 41 are banding with the Antioch Rotary Club to collect funds for survivors of the devastating tsunami that hit Southeast Asia.
