Article: New liquor license class gets OK

Skokie Trustees Monday unanimously approved adding a new liquor license classification in Skokie after agreeing to some changes to the original proposal at the request of existing liquor license holders.

Mayor George Van Dusen said the village has been considering adding a new liquor license to Skokie for more than a year -- in part to encourage business growth in the village's commercial areas. Van Dusen said that he has received many requests from businesses about liquor licenses but none has been available.
