Article: Village Theatre seeks new home

A popular community theater run by the Libertyville Parks and Recreation Department is searching for a new home.

For about the last three years, Village Theatre Productions has held plays and musical productions at Community High School District 128's Brainerd building on West Park Avenue.

However, Libertyville's parks and recreation department, which provides space and staff supervision for the theater, has decided not to renew the lease at Brainerd because of concerns the building does not meet village fire and safety codes.

"We are definitely looking for a permanent location," said Linda Klepac, theater co-director of Village Theatre and a Libertyville park employee.
