The Express store in the Lincolnwood Town Center remained closed Wednesday following the death Saturday of a 6-year-old Chicago boy struck by a falling mirror.
Tuesday the boy's family filed suit in Cook County Court against Limited Brands Inc., the Columbus, Ohio, company that owns the store.
Police say the glue holding the 500-pound mirror to a wall of the store in the mall, 3333 Touhy Ave., apparently failed to hold, allowing it to fall and crush the boy to death.
Jonathan A. Villagomez, of the 4000 block of North Whipple, was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston following the incident. He was pronounced dead at 3:49 p.m.
