Article: Golden Eagles map out their return to playoffs

With the Indian Summer wind blowing through the Jacobs camp, the speckled orange-red sunset rays revealed the shadows and silhouettes of this year's batch of proud pigskin gladiators.

Covered in sweat, stained with turf, some even blood, these gritty warriors punished each other every day in their search for perfection.

And even though they were defeated more than they triumphed last season, the only thing the Golden Eagles are thinking about is making this campaign one they will never forget.

It all starts Friday when Jacobs hosts Dundee-Crown at 7:45 p.m. The Chargers have beaten the Golden Eagles in each of the past two season openers, including 28-19 at D-C in 2002.
