Play Ball USA, the baseball and softball training center in Des Plaines, will celebrate its first anniversary of operation with an open house for members only and a special event for the public.

An invitation-only reception will be held for members on Saturday at the training center, located at 208 S. Graceland in Des Plaines. On Sunday at 3 p.m., the public is welcome to attend a free program on "Baseball the Major League Way" by Play Ball USA President and Director of Player Development Ron Cacini. Cacini is a former professional player with the Houston Astros (1990-93) and he also played with the Schaumburg Flyers during their inaugural season in 1999.
