Article: District 63 under review

The Illinois State Board of Education will conduct an on-site review of the Maine Township Special Education Program in connection with a complaint about Elementary School District 63's autism program.

The state board's compliance division will come in for the review during the first semester of the 2002-03 school year, according to a letter from state board officials. Thus far, the agency is not sure what dates it will come in to do the investigation, said Jack Shook, division administrator for the special education compliance division.

"We will be going to the districts that were affected by the compliance investigation," Shook said. "That will be our focal point."
