Article: Museum shift eyed, but opposition remains

Holocaust Memorial Foundation officials were scheduled to huddle today with village officials to determine if they can shift their proposed museum northeast on its planned site.

Spurred by intense neighborhood opposition, they will try to reconfigure plans and place the building close to Niles Center Road and Howard Street. The plan presently calls for putting the museum on Laramie Avenue.

They are still determined to build on land they plan to buy from the Cheder Lubavitch Hebrew Day School, 5201 W. Howard, Foundation board member Howard Swibel said last week.
