Article: CTA inspector hurt on Skokie Swift line

A 42-year-old Chicago Transit Authority employee was listed in serious condition Wednesday, one day after he was struck by a southbound Skokie Swift train as it traveled over the Dodge Avenue and Mulford Street viaduct in Evanston.

CTA officials were not releasing the name of the man who apparently worked as a track inspector.

The man was pinned between the train and south wall of the viaduct, and Evanston firefighter-paramedics worked to free and lower him to a waiting ambulance.

The incident occurred at about 9:40 a.m. as the two-car Skokie Swift train was heading south toward Howard.
