In the first night football game in Holy Cross history, a determined Crusaders bunch routed Hales Franciscan 35-0 Friday to the delight of a capacity homecoming crowd.

"The lights were something we had been talking about since the spring," Holy Cross athletic director Dan Eberle said. "The popularity of high school football is Friday night. So we thought we'd give it a chance, especially with homecoming - to make it really special."

The Catholic Metropolitan Conference Red Division victory improved Holy Cross to 3-3 overall and 3-3 in league play.
