The Oak Park Bronco (12-year-olds) team won the Rockford Regional title the hard way.
Oak Park advanced out of the loser's bracket and posted back-to-back wins over Rockford in less than 24 hours to win the regional crown with a 10-6 decision over the host team on Sunday afternoon.
The title advanced Oak Park to the North Zone Tournament in Joliet. Oak Park opens pool play against the McCutcheonsville (Indiana) Regional winner at 2:30 p.m. Thursday.
The other two regional winners in the pool with Oak Park are from St. Joseph (Joliet) and Chatham. The top two teams in each pool advance to semifinal games at 8 and 10 a.m. Sunday. The title game is slated for 6 p.m. Monday.
