The La Leche League of Palatine-Rolling Meadows believes breast-feeding causes healthier babies, but some members admit being tempted to bottle-feed.
"I was sore. I was bleeding," Lisa Fitzgerald, 27, of Arlington Heights told the group last week at the international headquarters of La Leche League, 1400 N. Meacham Road in Schaumburg. "My mother was saying, 'It's OK if you quit.' ... My mother-in-law was saying, 'It's OK if you quit.' "
Fitzgerald said she persisted because of concern about the health of her son, and the process eventually became easier.
