Fourth of July purists can take heart: At least for the next two years, Antioch's Fourth of July celebration will be held on July 4.

While it may seem a tad early _and wishful thinking, as well - to start talking about Fourth of July plans when winter hasn't even started, that's not really the case. Preparations for the village's Independence Day celebration usually starts around this time.

But the calendar for the next few years presents village officials with a dilemma: In 2000, July 4 falls on a Tuesday; in 2001, it falls on a Thursday.

Whenever possible, village officials like to have the Fourth of July activities on a weekend. That's made easier when the Fourth of July ...
