Tantillo Corporation has cast its line to develop 264 condominium units at the former site of the Fisherman's Dude Ranch in unincorporated Maine Township.
The dude ranch was known to anglers of all ages as the one local fishing hole that assured success.
But the dude ranch has been out of business for at least a year, even though the dude ranch sign of a fisherman in an unending tug of war with a huge fish at the other end of the line is still visible on the south side of Golf Road.
The preliminary proposal by Tantillo was presented Monday to the Cook County Zoning Board.
