Article: Grace Lutheran finds strength for 65 years

Through adversity, Grace Lutheran Church has found strength, and for 65 years the congregation has muscled its way to a strong foundation - one that is rich in heritage yet empowered by new, exciting ideas.

"Our past is made up of wonderful years," said Mildred Kraabel-Stephenson, one of the church's longest-serving members who was recognized last month during a 65th anniversary celebration held after Mass at Grace Lutheran Church, 2700 N. Harlem Ave., Elmwood Park.

"We've had some hard times but we've always worked together and we have a lot to be grateful for. The people here are all special and friendly and loving."
