STAFF WRITER In her lifetime, Colleen Kasting was not one to seek publicity but it came to her anyway.
Now, more than a year after her death, the long-time village clerk's name will leave a lasting legacy on Mundelein.
Mayor Marilyn Sindles and the Village Board voted to dedicate a street in Kasting's memory. Sindles said she believes Kasting is the only village clerk in Mundelein's history to have received such an honor.
"I don't think she'd go for this because she wasn't one to toot her own horn, so I'm doing it for her, said her husband John Kasting, who attended Monday night's Village Board meeting along with several close family members.
