An appellate court has upheld a Lake County zoning decision denying a developer's request to build 662 homes in Fremont Township.
Daniel B. Light, Leah Rae Light and William McLauglin brought a lawsuit against Lake County in 1996 after the County Board denied their request to develop single- and multi-family housing units on 266 acres between Route 176 and Hawley Street. The Village of Mundelein joined the county in defending the suit, arguing the proposed development was out of character with the area.
