Article: New church unites two congregations' legacies

For some Our Lady of Ransom parishioners, their new church will be the realization of a dream kept alive for more than 45 years.

But it will also be the continuation of the dreams of a sister parish, which recently closed its doors.

Construction is nearing completion at the Our Lady of Ransom, 8624 W. Normal Ave., Niles in preparation for a dedication by Cardinal Francis George on June 3. The $3.6 million project is the biggest in the church's history, said the Rev. John Hall, pastor.
