The most recent addition to VCA Franklin Park Animal Hospital's staff expects to find herself busy as spring approaches.
Kristin Holm, DVM, is a board certified veterinary dermatologist who knows that pets as well as their owners can suffer from seasonal allergies.
Determining why Fido is uncomfortable can be difficult, said the 28-year-old who joined the Franklin Park animal hospital in September after working at a general practice in Berwyn and then completing her residency at the University of Pennsylvania.
"That's a challenge," she said. "In a lot of cases, they show signs that are clearly seasonal skin allergies, but food allergies are present year-round."
