Article: Voters approve Grandwood Park District referendum

Commissioners on the Grandwood Park District have to be feeling pretty good this week after passing their first referendum in the history of the park district.

By a final vote of 147 to 125, voters living in the Grandwood Park District boundaries approved a 15 cent tax rate increase per $100 of equalized assessed valuation, to reach a final tax rate of 25 cents.

With the added increase, homeowners in the park district boundaries who own a $150,000 home will be paying an addition $75 in property taxes to the Grandwood Park District.
