Park Ridge commuters may soon be able to withdraw cash while waiting for trains.
Northern Trust Bank, 8501 W. Higgins Road, Chicago, wants to install an automatic teller machine at the Park Ridge train station. The City Council will vote on the proposal June 19.
"It would be a benefit to me because I'm always running out of cash," said Steve Cubberly, a commuter from Mount Prospect, as he waited for a train in Park Ridge. "I live on ATMs."
The bank did not offer to compensate the city for renting the space because installing the machine is seen as a service to the Park Ridge community, according to the license agreement.
