Gordon Tech smelled the Catholic League North Division championship last Friday night. All the Rams had to do in order to claim the title was knock off rival Loyola Academy in their regular season home finale. When the clock struck 9 p.m., the Rams were celebrating a 67-48 victory.
The difference between the two teams was the Rams' one-two punch of sophomore Mike Lang and senior Jitim Young. Lang's consistent outside shooting accounted for a game-high 21 points while the Northwestern-bound Young displayed his all-around skills with 17 points and seven assists.
The host team led Loyola from start to finish, breaking open the game in the first three minutes of the third period.
