In its first game in the Prep Bowl playoffs, the Carmel High School football team scored early and often, racking up a 24-0 lead in a little more than seven minutes. With a balanced offensive attack, the Corsairs held on for a 31-12 victory over visiting Gordon Tech Saturday afternoon.
After a scoreless first quarter that ended with Gordon Tech punting, Carmel opened the second with an eight-play touchdown drive. First-down runs by Ben Lawrence and Matt Roe carried the Corsairs within striking distance, and with 7:39 to play in the half, Lawrence broke a 29-yard touchdown run down the left side.
