A Highland Park coffee house is having difficulty finding the right mix with the city's sign code.
The owner of The Perfect Blend, which opened in September at the corner of Central Avenue and Sheridan Road, claims that thedecisions of Highland Park's Design Review Commission have left her with a bad taste.
Helene Taylor would like to continue displaying signs on both her awnings and windows. But the commission said it's either one or the other.
Taylor said she needs signs on her awnings so drivers can see what she's selling and signs on her windows to attract foot traffic.
