Article: Citizens Patrol always ready to lend a hand

As Jim Walsh drove down the dark tree-lined streets of Park Ridge on June 13, he was afraid that the streets would become crazy with rowdy residents celebrating the Chicago Bulls championship.

But that never happened.

Walsh, a member of the Park Ridge Citizens Patrol, drove his beat that night in the rain from 7:30 p.m. to midnight, but the streets north of Uptown remained quiet under a full moon.

"I can take snow and ice, but constant rain gets on my nerves," he said.
