When Bobbi Longlais' oldest son was diagnosed at age 3 with attention deficit disorder and hyperactivity, she had a lot of fears about his future.
"He was teased at school when he was younger. He had to learn to deal with it," she said. "His hyperactivity was pretty severe."
Longlais had her son put on medication for his hyperactivity, and then she signed him up for special education classes at Miner School in Arlington Heights.
"He had an intensive curriculum, where he was taught learning strategies to cope with his disability," she said. "Chris has progressed very well over the years."
