Article: Luther Village residents recall old-time holidays

Stomach grumbling from all the hoopla, hokum and hucksterism that make up much of the recipe for Christmas in the '90s?

If so, a good dose of seasonal nostalgia may be just the right prescription for that holiday heartburn.

The cure comes courtesy of residents at the Luther Village retirement community in Arlington Heights.

A group of those residents met with a reporter last week to share recollections of family Christmases past that were marked by homemade food and handmade presents, not mad searches for Tickle Me Elmo.
