Friends and relatives of insurance executive Arthur F. Quern, who died in last week's plane crash in Wheeling, remembered him Monday as a man devoted to family and dedicated to community.
The 54-year-old Evanston resident was chairman and chief executive officer of Aon Risk Services Companies Inc., the insurance brokerage segment of Aon Corp. in Chicago. He was a former White House staff member during the presidency of Gerald R. Ford and later served as chief of staff for former Illinois Gov. James R. Thompson.
Patrick G. Ryan, chairman and chief executive officer of Aon, said Mr. Quern "was a man of tremendous integrity and commitment.
