Article: Winter outraces workers repaving Green Bay Road

The window of opportunity to complete the Green Bay Road project by Friday's deadline was slammed shut with the arrival last week of an arctic chill, but the village engineer said temporary measures will be taken to help motorists through the winter.

Village Engineer Dave Mau said that despite the cold snap, preliminary paving was completed last week which brought the entire roadway up to the same grade. Although the weather did prevent any further paving, Mau said workers will be able to put a temporary two-lane striping on the roadway.

Next week, Mau said, these two lanes will be marked in the center of the road, a shift from their current position on the far east side of the road.
