Article: Zoning board nixes park district office

A plan by the Grayslake Park District to move into a new headquarters and allow for a full-time preschool has been shot down by the village of Grayslake Zoning Board.

By a 4-1 vote Monday, the Park District will not have the Zoning Board's approval in its quest for a new headquarters.

Park District officials appeared frustrated this week, but said they expected a rejection to the idea of moving to a vacant house at 109 Alleghany Road, which would free up space for a preschool to run full time out of the current cramped headquarters on Harvey Avenue.
