Article: Park District loses 2 board members

Lured by desert winds and northern climes, two park commissioners have announced their resignations from the Park Board of Highland Park.

Jerome Fell and Stuart Widman are trading in their Highland Park zip codes and must resign their posts after a combined 12 years of service to park district residents.

Widman is heading north to Lake Forest, and the recently-retired owner of Fell Shoes will spend half the year wintering in Palm Springs, Calif.

In a Dave Barryesque resignation letter from the West Coast, Fell says: "I just cannot do justice for the park district and for you from 2,000 miles away for months at time.". In a post script, Fell warns against trusting anyone under 50 years old.
