Article: Vernon Hills wary over size of branch library

Vernon Hills Village trustees, who have offered a 3.5 acre site for a branch library in their village, are now questioning whether the facility proposed for that site by the Cook Library Board will meet the growing needs of Vernon Hills.

Cook Library trustees recently decided to explore the possibility of expanding the Cook Library in downtown Libertyville to 65,000 square feet and building a 15,000 square foot branch library in Vernon Hills.

"We don't want anything woefully inadequate," said Vernon Hills Village President Roger Bryne.
