Article: Compact disc a jam for students, teachers

A talented group of Lake Zurich High School musicians has released its first compact disc.

About 180 students involved with the high school's music department created a compact disc last May with a compilation of music from the chorus, symphony, band and orchestra. The disc was released early this month.

The project was the brainchild of choir and orchestra director Ron Velleuer and was initiated last year because he thought it would give music department students an edge by having a compact disc with their music on it. With the help of a college friend from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, the idea for a compact disc came to life.
