The owner of a restaurant that has been open several years without the use of the bar and lounge area will formally ask Monday that the Mundelein Village Board create and issue a liquor license for the business.
Andrew Christofalos, owner of the Tops restaurant at Maple Ave. and Lake St., questioned why the village approved the large bar and lounge area for the restaurant if no liquor license would be issued.
Village staff has said Christofalos was told when his building permit was issued that there was no guarantee that he would be issued a liquor license. Charles Wilson, Christofalos' attorney, will request a liquor license for Tops during a meeting of the village board permits committee ...
