While Cook County officials continue with a legal battle to keep an adult bookstore in Palatine Township closed, they have more quietly succeeded in removing two massage parlors from the area.

Both the Executive Time Out Spa at 1590 N. Rand Road in Palatine Township and the Touch of Sun, 819 Dundee Road, Palatine, have closed their doors for violating Cook County's zoning code.

Although neither business was cited with illegal or illegitimate activity, such as prostitution, a Cook County Department of Building and Zoning official said last week the massage operations are simply not allowed in that area of the township.
