Article: Conference points up Oak Park's tour appeal

Plans to tout Oak Park as a conference site have been on the village agenda for years. But last week, 387 preservation buffs proved it can be done.

The 16th Annual Illinois Preservation Conference was held in Oak Park Thursday through Sunday, culminating with a guided tour through Oak Park and River Forest's historic districts.

"I can't say enough about the setting of Oak Park," said Nancy Wagner, assistant executive director of the Landmarks Preservation Council of Illinois.
