The rituals that surround the Jewish High Holy Days have been practiced for thousands of years. But they're still new to Claudia Freed, who began learning about Judaism after she married her husband, Marc, seven years ago.
The Willowbrook woman, who is preparing for her bat mitzvah, loves the traditions that go with the religion's High Holy Days, and the meanings behind them.
"The sounding of the shofar is a meaningful, moving experience," Freed said of one of her favorite rituals of Rosh Hashana.
